Why it’s important to have a website when Ig/Facebook shuts down

What happens when Social Media shuts down again? Even if it’s for a couple of minutes or hours, yes people tend to overreact as to what to do since they use social media as a connection/communication to the world, some people use it as a livelihood and base their careers and finances around social media. But what if social media shuts down longer than that? what if it’s for a day? or a couple of days or maybe for a week?! How are businesses, and entrepreneurs supposed to reach out to their followers and audience?

Yes, I know using social media is easy to use because you can post your products, adventures, or anything with just one click. everything with social media is direct and to the point for your followers to understand and either want to purchase your products, start trends, or follow you.

Yes, I know you already know how social media works and you want to know why it’s important to have a website, so enough with my babbling and I will start getting to the point :)

Having a website is IMPORTANT because social media is just a marketing tool and a website is the base of your business. A website, a business can set up a personalized shop, selling their product directly to their customers. With the amount of sharing and activity on social media they are good for web searches but websites do have the upper hand when it comes to web search, websites have higher search results due to relevance because websites have the opportunity to appear in related searches due to SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

I know I know, not everyone gets SEO and it can be a little complicated to learn how to use it, that’s why it is great to invest with a local SEO and or a web designer who can help with some of the basics to have your website searchable.

When Social Media does its occasional shutdown, you are unable to get into your account and promote new posts, reels, and stories, having a website you are still able to promote, add new products, and email marketing. It is best to invest in a website and grow your email list because once social media such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, etc. you will still be able to connect with your followers, and clients, and email them your promotions, videos, and trends while other businesses, artists, and influencers are thriving, the people who don’t have a website are stuck in the social media shutdown and can’t do anything to connect until the platforms are fixed.
