Why We Design Websites With Squarespace

How I started with Squarespace

About 5 years ago I used to be a Pop Culture/ Comic Book Podcaster which lasted for over 8 years when starting, I was invited to be a co-host on a podcast show called Comics After Dark. We were figuring out our platform and ways to promote ourselves online. At first, our main platforms were Instagram, Apple, and Spotify. We needed something that would be a hub for our show and our followers' place to check us out and upcoming events. We only knew a little about how to build a website or where to start out, when we found Squarespace. Squarespace was the perfect hub for us, as it was just a drag-and-drop build, and was super easy to add the things we needed to showcase our podcast.

During that time I started learning Frontend Development, which is coding websites, I finished the boot camp within a year and started creating websites with custom code, I do enjoy developing sites from scratch, and made me understand more about what goes into a website to perform with no glitches and be responsive for all types of media screens (phone, tablets, laptops, etc.) When completing websites for my clients, I realized how much time it takes to maintain sites, as there are many updates to keep adjusting for a site and a lot of time to figure out certain codes to look correct on the sites layout. Especially for clients that need an update on their website ASAP, like a new photo for example.

So now building websites for my clients with Squarespace, they still get the feel of modern and responsive websites just as a normal one that was built from scratch. But now they can maintain their site more independently and without contacting me for a little update such as adding a new image or hiring another website professional. Of course, I would give their team some tips and tricks to make some updates to their site, if there needs to be. But I would do the layout and add some custom CSS to create their site to be more unique and original from the other basic Squarespace templates that are offered on the site.
